What is the Mini-MANS-LD?
These questions are about how you feel about your life. The questions are based on the things that most people need out of life, which were written down by a man called Abraham Maslow in 1943.
The Mini-MANS-LD is named after Maslow’s important things in life and asks questions about basic things you need like the place you live, being safe from hurting other people or them hurting you, being happy with relationships, feeling good about yourself and being able to do the things you want to do.

How can you use these Questions?
Sometimes these questions are used by services that support people with learning disabilities, to find out if the service has helped you with these things. Or you might want to use the questions yourself to think about how things are in your life at the moment, and if things change for you over time.
You can answer these questions by yourself. There are no right or wrong answers – it is just about how you feel about your life. If you find it hard to answer the questions, then it is OK to ask for help from someone who knows you well. You can also have the questions read out by the website. Nobody will know who you are or the answers you give, unless you show them yourself.
We hope you find these questions helpful in understanding more about how you feel about your life.
